THE CATALAN-OCCITAN ROUTE
The Catalan Occitan route wishes to unite in a single outline, the most significant monuments of the Romanesque or Romanesque-Gothic eras of the Mediterranean areas most historically influenced by the spread of Occitan and Catalan language and culture.
It consists of a long and extraordinary voyage from the Pyrenees to the Alps, starting from the Catalan area through the «Albigensian» Cathar heretical areas of the midI-Pyrenees and the Languedoc going through Provence to reach the extreme eastern edge of the Occitan world, on the other side of the Alps in the Occitan valleys of Italy.
